Wishing all a Happy Easter!
We wanted to send our warmest Easter wishes to you all!
May this season of renewal bring you an abundance of peace and love.
Since Nadia was raised orthodox and lives here in Newburyport, she celebrates both Easters (31st March & 5th May).
No matter what spiritual beliefs or faith we follow, this holiday represents renewal and new beginnings for many.
Thank you for supporting our cause and bringing hope to people in Ukraine.
How we are making a Difference
We are truly humbled to all who have already donated items from our Amazon Wishlist for Ukraine.
We also wanted to give you a more in-depth idea of how worldwide humanitarian companies are able to help with general aid which is also valuable, but there are still plenty of gaps in aid that are extremely needed.
At this stage, we are focusing on filling those gaps.
For example, the town of Beryslav ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Due to this intensity of shelling, it is almost impossible to carry out restoration or repair work. These towns have almost no cell service, intermittent wired internet connection, no gas supply, and in most places no power or water.
This is just one out of many towns on both sides of the Dnipro River with similar or worse situations.
We have been in direct contact with many Ukrainians living in these areas (residents, volunteers and local Ukrainian military). We have learned that these worldwide humanitarian companies are only sending limited monthly aid, mostly clothing, and basic food items, which unfortunately doesn’t cover the entire month or daily human needs. They lack items like power alternatives, self-medical care, shelf-stable food, and other basic necessities.
This is our goal, to fulfill those gaps for people in need.
We continue to collect aid for towns located in the Kherson region directly on or near the contact line.
The towns on the left (occupied) side of Dnipro such as Krynky, Kozachi Lahery, Korsunka, Dnipriany suffered the most – since the Kahovka Dam was destroyed by the Russian military on June 6th, 2023, people in those settlements live in extreme conditions – flooding destroyed appliances, damaged power lines all with no Russian help. Cell service and internet connection are mostly absent as well.
We are currently working with the Ukrainian Army as they extend their presence on the left bank of Dnipro (Krynky, Kozachi Lahery). They are also bringing small amounts of aid to civilians, on every rotation, when they are crossing the Dnipro River. We are taking this opportunity to give them all they need.
How you can Help
If you can’t make a direct purchase donation via Amazon or direct financial support we are also accepting donations which you can drop off at our house or ask to pick up.
What do we need:
- Survival items (rechargeable LED flashlights, power banks, rechargeable batteries, portable solar panels, emergency blankets, sleeping bags, pretty much items you would typically use for camping)
- Emergency food (shelf-storage meals that are lightweight and don’t require cooking )
- Medical supplies ( first aid items, water purification, gauze, dressing, tourniquets, braces, adult diapers, thermometers, oximeter, blood pressure monitors) We need basically everything, please contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
- Clothing and shoes ( for all ages, priority is underwear, socks, t-shirts, pants, foam flip flops, rubber boots )
We are personally grateful for your unconditional and unwavering support during this difficult time for Ukraine and Ukrainians for now over 760 days. Humanity is a very powerful force.
Every contribution is very valuable and we thank you !
